Listen to Me
Jennifer Constantine was introduced to music even before she left the womb. Born to Greek Immigrant parents in Chicago, Jennifer's mother would constantly play and sing music while pregnant with her. As a toddler, Jennifer (or "JC" as she's also called by her fans) chose to climb up onto the piano bench and tinker with the keys rather than play with toys or watch Sesame Street. By the time she was four years old, Jennifer's fascination with the piano reached a level of near-obsession. Her mom made the decision to get her piano lessons. Jennifer learned to play the piano with the Suzuki Method and wrote her first composition at six years old. To date, she has written and co-written well over 200 original compositions, including the twelve songs on her debut album, LISTEN TO ME (produced by Hal S. Batt). As a vocalist, her career began almost accidentally, when JC was to asked to fill in for the absent lead singer of a popular local blues band. After her first impromptu performance, she ended up taking over for the singer and fronting the band, leading them to wider notoriety and leading Jennifer to the decision that a career as a singer/songwriter was her clear calling. Having a genuine love for language and phrasing, Jennifer speaks Greek, English, Spanish, French and Italian and sings in several different languages with organic proficiency. Today, JC splits her time between Los Angeles, CA, Nashville, TN, and Miami, FL, where she teamed up with award-winning producer, Hal S. Batt to record LISTEN TO ME. Together they've created a signature sound that captures Jennifer's Pop/Country appeal while staying true to her roots as a songwriter. Though she is currently working to promote LISTEN TO ME, JC is already beginning to write the material for her upcoming sophomore album (as yet untitled) which she will begin recording in the summer of 2009.
