Bring Back the Sunshine
22 year-old Jenny Keegan has just released her 2nd album 'Bring Back the Sunshine'. The album is a heart warming concoction of eclectic songs, ranging from gorgeously soft and acoustic \'No More Butterflies\' to the upbeat and catchy sounds of the title track \'Bring Back the Sunshine\'. Jenny takes much of her inspiration from her challenging career working to keep teenagers in Plymouth out of trouble and in school, - \'Even if one young person feels hopeful after listening to one of my songs then I think I\'ve done my job as a songwriter\'. One of the young people Jenny works with has even contributed his beatboxing skills to the ambient sounds of \'Only You\'. Listening to the album, you would be amazed that the majority of it was recorded in local musician Manuel Da Costa's room, with him and his flat-mates contributing bass and electric guitars, piano, and drums. Jenny's debut album 'A Petal Falls' received rave reviews from local press and listeners alike, but the feedback Jenny remains most proud of was from a 13 year old boy she works with who has been in and out of foster care and in trouble with police, who said it's the only music he plays to make him feel better when he's sad or angry. With radio airplay, high profile gigs and rave reviews from the local press, now all Jenny needs is for the music industry to sit up and listen.
