Deep Into the Woods
Born and raised in northern Wisconsin, Jerry Peterson has been playing instruments and writing music for as long as he can remember. It has taken years of experimenting to perfect his own unique style. His music is best described as Americana ~ singer songwriter with traditional folk influences. Inspired by many of the great singer songwriters of the past and present, Jerry has written and released two self produced CD's. Through his songs he has shared his innermost thoughts, experiences, philosophy and outlook on life. He also reflects an awareness of the universality of human experiences that can be better endured or enjoyed, depending on what circumstances require, with the help of music. Peterson taps in to that universality through clarity in presenting what is important to his own life. Growing up in the north woods of Wisconsin, Jerry has developed a love for the outdoors which he also portrays through his latest release entitled 'Deep Into The Woods'. Peterson is currently working on a follow up album to be entitled 'Deeper In' which he plans on releasing late in 2006. The instant rapport that occurs between musicians and audiences is evident when Peterson performs. Many of his songs are ballads and no doubt come straight from the heart, informed by many durable folk icons. The blend between his guitar and vocal is perhaps as expressive as the lyrics themselves. With the ability to touch people with his music, Jerry captivates audiences with intimate songs of love, hope, good times, and times of despair. Jerry explains 'I have been working on my music most of my life. All I want to do is play my songs for people. I feel there's a place for me in today's music scene and the time has come for me to find it. Due to the recent opportunity to start a new career, I am taking my show on the road. I will name it my Freedom Tour, leaving corporate America behind.'
