Songs from My Heart
I'm a singer songwriter from Chattanooga, Tennessee who loves singing and playing more than home made biscuits and saw mill gravy!!! More than anything I love when my music touches another's heart in a positive way. I have been performing in the Chattanooga area and writing songs for many years but have had a few breakthroughs beginning back on Saturday night November 24th, 1996. That was the night my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ set my heart on fire as I sang high a'top Beautiful Lookout Mountain at Rock City. The first song I sang that night was Glenn Yarbrough's 'The Greatest Adventure' from the animated film, 'The Hobbit.' Little did I know that my greatest adventure was just beginning and my life has not been the same since that special night. I am now proud to say I have been voted by my fellow Chattanoogans as *Best Country Artist (Chattanooga Music Awards, 1997) and *Best Inspirational Artist (Chattanooga Independent Artists, 2005, 2006). I have been a regular on the Sunday Songwriters Nights in Nashville, Tennessee at the Bluebird Cafe since 1999. I received my first Nashville standing ovation as I sung 'Blue Diamond Tears' at the Broken Spoke Songwriters Cafe. I was just voted as the 2007 Riverbend Festival's Best Act at the timesfreepress.com (Chattanooga Times Free Press Newspaper)website! Some of my influences are Hank Williams Sr., Al Jolson, Glenn Yarbrough, Elvis Presley, Pat Boone, Jerry Byrd, Don Helms, Bobbe Seymour, Robert Randolph, Harry Chapin, Neil Young, Neil Diamond, Eldon Savoy, Raul Malo, Gordon Lightfoot, Steve Seskin, Hawkshaw Hawkins, John Denver and a host of wonderfully talented people, some famous and some most folks have never heard of. All of my musical influences are mixed together in my heart and I sing everything straight from there and that makes my sound pure Jim, the 'Orange Yodeler' Dautry.
