Joe played in a band in the mid Sixties called Edson Aces located in Edson Alberta. They were a folk part band that mostly played at local country and folk dances. Now embarking on a solo career and helping produce other bands locally he contributes wherever he can. Influenced mainly by Hank Williams Sr. and Conway Twitty, Joe is strongly embedded in the roots folk culture of western music. Certain events in Joe's life have cause him to rely on his dynamic but close knit community lifestyle. Issues with oil companies are never on the positive side, on June 7, 2001 a gas-well blow out forced him to relocate to an area where there is cleaner air. He's never been the same since but he managed to keep his musical interests alive and his rehabilitation ever the battle. He tries to keep the music on the positive side and it shows.
