Peers and art lovers agree, John Cooper\'s art and music exemplify a folklore and culture that is uniquely American. Over thirty-plus years of music and painting demonstrate John\'s creative spirit. John studied art at the Julie Sulzen Art Studio and is a member of the Pallet and Chisel Art Academy. His works, primarily oils, have been exhibited in galleries and eating establishments. Nature scenes and still-lifes figure prominently in John\'s paintings. John\'s spirit and talent comes from his roots as a third-generation Chicago artist. Born and raised in the Chicago area, John graduated from Proviso East High School. Singing in the church choir spawned John\'s love of music. He attended the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago Conservatory of Music, and Brokell and Blair Vocal Studios. A renowned singer and songwriter, John has recorded five records on the Ermine label in Chicago. He has recorded for Dot Records, Challenge, Plantation and Barrington Records. Two early recordings broke the Midwest top ten lists. John\'s new CD, Words, exhibits a standard of excellence in rich vocals, strong chords and a variety of subject matter that blends country roots with pop and other traditions. From the compelling Words through the clever imagery of Comin\' Down with Love, each song offers the listener a quality blend of lyrics and music. Lush background vocals and instrumentation add to the quality. Each song brings a new reason to keep listening.
