John Nicolosi's new CD release GOIN'STRONG features 16 original songs written, arranged, performed, and produced by John. Reminiscent of James Taylor, John's variety of styles on this project reflect on his flexibility in writing; also, while John has several different song styles on this project, his vocal capabilities allow him to 'switch gears' easily from style to style. John's voice can be on the lighter side of soft quiet ballads; he can also let it go with power when he wants to - with an effective range to the high and low end of the pitch spectrum. The song Goin' Strong, an upbeat soft rock love song, features solo voice and piano at the beginning and builds up throughout vocally and ensembly and eventually ends with a single solitary voice. Rejuvenated is light and almost Beatles-ish. This one has a melody that sticks with you. Some humorous songs on the CD include a groove tune called Friday Night Darts, a song about a guy who no one can have access to AT ALL on Friday Nights, including his own family (because of darts). All Outta You is an example of a humorous song with a Lyle Lovett flavor. June Tune is an instrumental ballad - one can be reminded of something from John Tesh. 'Nothin'' is as close to pure jazz as any other tune that exists on this CD. Don't Go Changin' is another groove tune that features the guitarist. Children of the World reminds 'all' children, including adults, to not forget the kid inside all of us. The CD features the unique talents of central Pennsyvania guitarist John Stauffer who's flexible guitar work and red hot leads truly shine through on this project. John Nicolosi taught himself piano at the age of 14 and began writing and singing songs.
