Half Naked Man
Dear Listeners Thank you for visiting this site. This work initially began with a strong need that I had to play and record my music. After working with other instrumentalists in a collaborative effort to create original material and not finding a collective strong direction emerging, I decided I just wanted to be alone and do it all by myself. Write, arrange, play and sing all the parts. I thought if I could get it good enough to make other musicians interested I could then bring it to life by enlisting their talents. By the time I finished it, however, something happened I really didn't expect. I liked it the way it was. John In his debut album, 'Half Naked Man', Ransom lends his diverse musical talents to a wide range of instrumentation to form a one man band while also lending his voice of versatility and unique complexity to the mix. These ten tracks draw from Ransom's eclectic musical heritage which began with his parent's gospel music ministry followed by their extensive career as secular performing artists in night clubs throughout the Northwest. Ransom's early childhood immersion in the music business would take him from one performing ensemble to the next as he dabbled in multiple genres of this art form singing and playing rock, funk, blues, jazz, and performing as a singer actor in musical theater and opera. Based in Seattle, Ransom continues to perform in various musical ensembles. Most recently you can hear his bari and soprano saxes in the recording, 'Wordblender and the Full Nut Explosion - Live on Sonarchy Radio'.
