John's Bio Born: March 19, 1973 in Memphis, Tennessee Educated at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Created Clubhouse Records, LLC in 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia Nominated in 2000 for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Achievement in Television Crafts: Best Composer for a Fox Sports show 'Count Down to Signing Day.' Released 'This Long Road' January 20, 2001 The Making of 'This Long Road' Clubhouse Records lyricist and musician, John Sorrells, has been around the music scene writing pieces for television programming and opening for local concerts. In 2000, he was nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Achievement in Television Crafts: Best Composer for a Fox Sports show 'Count Down to Signing Day.' Although he has many musical successes, recording his first CD was a personal dream come true. The musicians on the album include: Peter Stroud, Guitarist for Sheryl Crow and Don Henley; Adam Nitti, Bassist for Angie Aparo; Tom Knight, a drummer previously with Stevie Nicks, Pink and currently with TLC, and Tom Gross, a local studio session keyboardist. 'Sorrells' laid back American Rock style is self described as 'travelling music.' The name of the CD is 'This Long Road' and contains lyrics about 'ironies in everyday life to which everyone can relate.' 'Some trains go nowhere yet people still board,' is a line from the song 'Something to Think About.' O'Brian said this is the kind of music for when you are traveling on Route 66, on open road, no curves for a thousand miles, it's arid and warm - this is the CD that will keep you going.' 'John Mellencamp, Edwin McCain and James McMurtry get in a blender and the cocktail that is created is John Sorrells' Enjoy the ride.
