Multi-talented Christian Hip Hop and Soul artist Joron Willz has stepped on the stage in Minneapolis demonstrating a passion for Christ and a heart of worship. Inspired by a need to preach the gospel and share his testimony through song, Joron combines his skills as an MC and vocalist in a unique style that swings in a continuum from conscious-yet-commercial Hip-Hop to neo-soul and worship. This producer/songwriter voyages topics not frequented by many Christian artists like politics, personal defeats, romantic relationships and his qualms with the modern day church. Although he does not aim to provoke controversy he does want to heighten awareness of current issues and the problems they present to him and his audience. Influenced by Tupac Shakur, Anthony Hamilton, and Timbaland, amongst others, Joron combines well thought out, and witty, rap lyrics over industry standard hip hop tracks. Joron, Unit 7 of ILL Establishment Productions, and Traxx of Trak Runnaz Music Productions have teamed up to produce his debut album, Truthfully Free. With the encouragement of his pastor, Joron learned to play the bass and electric guitar in Junior High. He and fellow rappers JaCory and Miles later formed the group Brigade. They began creating beats and performing before live crowds, delivering soulful rap lyrics with confidence and fervor. In a step of faith, Joron eventually ventured out and began his solo career. Since his declaration of solo status, he has acquired a live band, Blood Bought Soul, and has been commissioned to perform for other groups and events throughout the Twin Cities. He has also performed at the largest Christian night club in the United States, Club 3 Degrees on several occasions, and has opened for well respected Christian artists like James Grear and New Friends, and Just.Live. "For me it's not only about music, it's about ministry. Creating through music an experience that leads people to Christ... music is just the vehicle."
