View from a Distant Past
This 10 song album of contemporary folk/folk rock music is packed with Joseph's unique take on such topics as love, religion and even his pet grand-'dogs'!! Songs include 'Who Do You Say I Am', written about the quest for religious truth, 'Huggin You', a humorous and much more 'enjoyable' alternative to exercise, 'Outsourced', a stinging portrayal of the harsh realities of globalization, 'In Your Eyes', a beautiful ballad in the style of James Taylor, 'Dogs' a very funny but realistic look at the plight of a cat lover in a dag lovers world, 'One Guitar' a tribute to the great songs of the 60's and 70's and 'Living In A World of Kindness' and 'Learn To Live In Love', poignant anthems for world peace and harmony. If you love the music of Paul Simon and John Mayer then this album is a must for you! Recorded in both New York and Nashville, Joseph is joined on this album by some of those town's finest musicians. Joseph DeMasi is an award winning singer, songwriter and recording artist who got his start in the folk clubs of New York City where he was born and raised. Attaining local success in that scene he worked and shared the stage with such folk music greats as Harry and Tom Chapin and Christine Lavin. Joseph's love for acoustic music took him to Nasville in the 80's where he wrote, recorded and produced with some of Nashville's top musicians. In 1992 he joined forces with his twin brother and long time collaborator John along with life long friend and actor Chris Burke, the star of ABC's hit TV show 'Life Goes On'. The trio formed a childrens music group and signed a record deal with BMG/Kidz. They have recorded 4 albums for children and have received numerous awards including a Parents Gold Seal for Excellence. Joseph's solo career continues with the release of his first solo CD 'View From A Distant Past'.
