Basstown Session 1
Back in 19--, one of the rawest -----z was born in south central Los Angeles...eastside to westside, he put it down...southside to the northside, he been around ...normandie ave, john muir, manual arts, crenshaw, etc...etc...he started off listening to jazz, r&b, and funk at a young age. Breakin down the beats in his head and trying to sing the melodies. Then something called n.w.a came out and f----d his head up forever...now he's infatuated with rap, admiring it, thinking that you had to be a genius to rhyme words to a beat. Yeah, he liked eastcoast rap like run dmc, rakim, and ll. They were good, but the westcoast was rappin about 'more serious' things that he saw growing up in l.a. not to mention, they were sampling parliment, funkadelic, rodger & zap, gap band, and a lot of stuff he liked as a kid. So now he's always writing. He started writing little poems about life and stuff when he was eleven. By the time he turned thirteen he wrote his first rap and it was on ever since. If he wasn't battlin fools or writing songs in class, he was in the studio recording or doing shows. Ya boy is a 'writer' in every meaning of the word. He got letters runnin through his veins...songs comin out the bong. Who is he ???...the great, great, great, great, nephew of frederick douglass...that's right, uncle fred. Reincarnated in hip hop form (sorry,if you was expecting mike jones...haha). ---Jupiti jali dazar not too long ago after representin the l.g. click for over 10 years i started the d.c. (distrikofcalifornia) and udeez (undadogz)... (both soon to be released)...the album to the left 'tha sonic' is my first solo recording after years of being in groups. It's a compilation of situations good and bad over the course of my life, and should help further explain my personalities. Oh...and i make tracks too... check out: 'basstown', 'atrocious', 'if you want 2', 'steal goals', and 'come again'---prod. By dazar p.s. i'd like to give a shoutout to all the people who hated on me and my music. The ones who could never give me an honest opinion. The ones who tried to make me feel like i didn't know what i was doing when i was making my beats. The ones who know industry people but are too jealous to put in a word for me. The ones who hated on my mixdown tryna make me sound 'amateurish'(check perogative). The ones who hated on my creativity and thought they were doing me a service with their criticizm...thanks for making me more determined. And... too many people spend there time trying to hold somebody else back. But they never realize that there only hurtin themselves...scared to try some original s--- and puttin you down cause they don't have the guts to do it. ^#^go ahead keep it up...but know this...every song that i write is from the heart. Every beat i make is a steak. You just gotta know what kinda sauce to put on it. ^#^finally... to all aspiring artists, never let someone inexperienced (or sometimes experienced) in music tell you that you have to be like this person or that person. Be you. The rest'll follow through. Be real. You might just get a deal. Don't bite. Preserve yo' appetite. Stay true. In everything you do. The same goes for me, and everyone you see...e-mail me up, let me know what you think about my CD...baby. Over ten years dedicated to slayin' rappers...
