Move in Power
"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us." 1 John 3:16 When asked for a verse that could be connected with his music, this was the first verse that came to Justin's mind. The recognition of there being more to life. A new perspective on the interplay between the eternal and the temporal. As C.S. Lewis said, "Whatever is not eternally useful is eternally useless" It would make sense that someone who is interested in the paradox of the eternal and the temporal would have a paradoxical style as well. Justin weaves together a variety of disparate sources and influences to create a style that is both new and unique but one that is grounded in history and tradition. Justin received his BM in composition from Cal State Fullerton. Starting with the piano, Justin has also been playing many other instruments and singing since the age of 5. He has been in a variety of bands be it worship bands, bands with fellow music majors and the Cal State Fullerton Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. Each experience and band involvement has played a part in where he is today. Situated in La Mirada CA, Justin is currently leading worship at Granada Heights Friends Church and has recently finished production on his CD, "Move in Power". Justin describes his sound as very eclectic, a combination of highly complex layers of instrumentation along with vocal lines and harmonies that weave seamlessly throughout. Justin is not content to simply write a 'catchy' tune. Instead, he finds his passion in creating new and meaningful worlds of sound which he observes is not something you find much of these days. His next step is to get his music into churches where his prayer is that God would use the music to draw people closer to Himself. Justin Francis is a unique musician and person who puts everything he has into his music. Be it experiences, thoughts, ideas, Justin wants to communicate the power and beauty of music and to open the eyes and ears of his listeners to recognize that this beauty and power comes from God. Not one to simply find a style and stick with it, Justin is one who will continue to explore and refine his sound and he invites you to join him on this journey. A journey not simply about music but of life as well.
