Tanning the White Line
I'm an independent musician doing my best to make great music that you can listen to, enjoy, and feel. I try to write lyrics that are thoughtful and worth pondering and choruses that you can sing along with. Then I work hard to compose music that supports the feel of each song and has enough variety in it to capture your imagination and also surprise you. Most people that listen to my music start out with a 'favorite song' but over time shift to a different favorite and then yet another. I like that - the fact that I can write songs that have some longevity and if given a chance will blossom on the listener. Thanks to great people like you, I'm 'making it'. I live in Mill Valley, California and do my recording at my home studio. I started my singing 'career' in a children's theater group where I had a couple of years of voice training. I learned to play guitar when I was 14 and began writing and recording shortly afterwards. The Arizona Songwriter's Association helped me learn what it takes to write 'hits' by exposing me to renown L.A. producers and songwriters and having them critique my work. I was the lead singer and songwriter of Manic-N when the group won Soundboard Magazine's Hottest New Band award. Now I've gone solo - composing my own sound and embracing my passion. I spend endless nights awake until 3 or 4am compelled by my desire to write great songs. I absolutely love creating music. Every aspect of music creation is thrilling to me. From the initial concept of a song through composition, performing, recording, engineering and marketing. It's all fantastic. My main instruments are the Guitar and my Voice. I also play Bass, Drums, Banjo, Violin, and Piano.
