Formed in the fall of 2001, Kalmia brings to the table a mix of punk and good old rock and roll that has a nice edge but is catchy, too! Rhythm guitarist/vocalist, Larry Holton, and bassist/vocalist, Casey Kranz, met in 2001 and started having small sessions at Larry's house where they would write and jam out. After going through some tedious lineup changes over the next few years, they finally found a drummer that suited their unique blend well. Tyler McDonough, a jazz drummer who had played with Larry and Casey a few times before was realized as Kalmia's drummer in 2005. With still one more piece of the puzzle missing, the threesome continued on their way writing music for their first album, Blotter. About midway through the recording process for the album, Kalmia had yet another lineup change and opted to find a new lead guitarist... and have Casey switch to bass. They found their facemelter in September of 2006, in Bryan Triplett. A very talented guitarist who completed the puzzle by adding his classic rock influenced style of shreeding to the mix. Since then, they have continued to roll out new, more mature material almost on a constant basis. Keep an eye out for these guys because they are on the hunt!
