Karie" was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and began her music career at age 8 singing in the St. Catherine's Church Choir where she has been the director of music for 11 years. Kari is also a member and soloist with the Diocese of Cleveland Gospel Choir. Every year they perform for Martin Luther King Day, The Juneteenth celebrations and various events throughout the year. Karie's abilities extend into the drama field as well. She was involved in drama all through high school. In 2004 she performed in and was also the assistant director for a Christian play "The Mercy Seat". The show traveled around churches in Cleveland for about a year. Karie' performed at the Hessler Street Fair in Cleveland and was featured live on W.R.U.W. 91.1 F.M. for seven years. She traveled around Cleveland and the surrounding area performing in clubs and festivals for 15 years. Other key performances include: -The Northeast Ohio Jazz Society for the Louis Stokes Celebrations -Opening for veteran singer/songwriter, Lenny Welch -The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - Opening for Glenn Jones in September 2006 -2007 Hip Hope Preservation Awards -2007 Opening act for the Sounds of the Delfonics and Carl Carlton A background well seasoned with Gospel, Blues, Jazz and R&B has the unforgettable impact of legends as Etta James, Billie Holiday and Aretha Franklin, artists that have greatly influenced her direction of music. Karie' spends time writing songs of the heart, reflective of her experiences in life and love. She has just finished recording her CD entitled "Soulful Sunset". A mixture of some Blues and Jazz remakes and some of her own R&B music.
