Brand New Start
Karri started her music career when she was just 3 years old. Initially enrolled in Musical Kindergarten for two years prior to starting school, then at the age four, she started private piano lessons. She developed a deep love and appreciation for music, and throughout her school years, she became greatly involved in music and theatre. She performed in class musicals and plays and had piano solos at school concerts. As she grew older, she began accompanying the school choir in several of their songs. Karri became a member of the St. Clairsville Singer's Show Choir in high school and performed with them for all four of her high school years. She also was involved with the Concert Choir and Girl's Ensemble. Her accomplishments allowed her to receive the Best Female Vocalist Award in Akron, OH. She also performed in the 1997 OVAC Queen of Queens pageant, where she placed in the top four. Continuing with her love of music, she enrolled in the Music Department of Valley Forge Christian College. While enrolled there, she became a member of their elite music group 'Chosen' and toured throughout the Eastern United States for a year. She left college to pursue her love of music in a more tangible way. She became a contestant in the True Value Showdown at Jamboree in the Hills in both 2000 and 2001. She continued her professional dreams and opened for Billy Crash Craddock at the Capital Music Hall, Jamboree USA in 2001 and for Charley Pride in 2004. She also performed at the first Sternwheeler Festival in 2002 and returned for the 2003 festival. More recently, Karri has performed at the 2004 Atwood Lake Fall Festival and sings the National Anthem for the American Heart Association Heart Walks and the occasional Wheeling Nailers Hockey Games. She delights audiences as she sings at weddings and special occasions and currently teaches private piano in her home while she continues to pursue her music and singing career. She released a Christmas album a couple of years ago and just finished her current musical project. She released her new CD 'A Brand New Start' recently. It features a variety of songs from country to gospel. Most of the songs are originals that were made available to her. It features local musicians from the 1170 Band, with accompaniment from B.E. Taylor and Ron Retzer. The CD was completed at Kelly Jones' Studio in Wheeling, WV and produced by Tim Seidler. Karri plans on developing a life long career in the music industry.
