Product Notes

KAYE TUCKERMAN Actor, Singer, Dancer, Director, and Writer Kaye Tuckerman is one huge talent, and one of Australia's most sought after artists. Kaye has performed in New York, London, Australia, New Zealand, and throughout Asia and Africa. She has just recorded her first CD - 'Siren' Kaye will return to New York in the summer of 2008 to appear as The Chanteuse at the famous Spiegelworld on the South Street Sea Port. She is currently shooting a film in Kenya, then to Adelaide Cabaret Festival where she will sing 'The Music of Henry Mancini'. Most recently Kaye appeared as 'The Chanteuse' in 'Absinthe', the sexy circus cabaret at Spiegelworld - South Beach, Miami. Prior to that, she directed 'Urinetown' at the prestigious La Salle University in Singapore, and completed a successful series of concerts with Broadway Composer Andrew Lippa in Provincetown, MA. Kaye Tuckerman was the winner of The New York Award at the 2003 Sydney Cabaret Convention, and was subsequently flown to Manhattan for the New York Cabaret Convention. This honor was complimented in 2004 when she was named Broadway/Australia's Female Cabaret Artist of the Year. During her time in New York, Kaye performed in the city's three premier cabaret venues. She was invited to perform her show, Man-eater, at New York's celebrated cabaret venue, Don't Tell Mama. She stopped the room at Jim Caruso's famed King Kong Room and was a guest artist alongside Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Wicked), and songwriter John Buccino at Mama Roses. Her success in New York led to an invitation to perform in London as the featured performer at the inaugural 2004 Australian of the Year in the UK Awards (major award won by Clive James) before the High Commissioner, Hon Michael L'Strang REVIEW OF 'SIREN' by Kaye Tuckerman - LunaKafe.com Kaye Tuckerman is a true diva and lives up to her albums title easily. She interprets others songs and breathes new life into them. She handles Brel and Kurt Weill as easy as she can cover Sting and Sheila Chandra. She does Tori Amos' risqué 'Icicle' and gives it a stellar reading. Brel's difficult 'My Death' gets a stunning version where her voice really rises to the challenge the song presents. 'Little Water song' written for Ute Lemper by Nick Cave sees a murder victim address her killer from her watery grave. Tuckerman really inhabits this morbid tale. She does a spirited 'Pirate Jenny' later. Tuckerman has made an album as captivating as it's title.
