Free to Believe
Kayla, a singer/songwriter from the Great Northwest, is a breath of fresh air to those who hear her. As the youngest of three girls, Kayla began entertaining friends and family at an early age with her creative personality and zest for life. It wasn't long before she was winning artistic and inspiration awards, gaining solo parts in school musicals, dramas, and became involved with school specialty choirs. She began to play a significant role in her church singing on worship teams, at youth conferences, and also featured as the lead soloist with the church choir. During the years, Kayla has kept her focus strong, continuing to challenge herself vocally, and creatively. She is always eager to learn new techniques, yet aggressively applies her own flavor of individuality to everything she does. Kayla continues to work with VHProductions, with whom she co-produced her first solo album, "Free to Believe". She has also been featured as an artist in several VHP Showcases. Some of Kayla's vocal influences include Lauryn Hill, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, and Mariah Carey. She enjoys creating music that encompasses many styles including gospel and soul, while incorporating her own love for a fresh rocky/edgy sound. Kayla has a strong desire to make her mark on the music industry, holding her own as an artist, songwriter, and performer, but also desires to bring strong values and model a high standard for the younger generation and her peers, especially on issues of acceptance, confidence, and peer-pressure. Kayla has an exceptional ability to connect with and stir up a live audience, delivering entertainment with excitement, passion, and powerful vocals. Kayla's music reaches a diverse audience not limited to age or an individual stereotype, as her music includes so many topics and styles that people can relate to in their own lives.
