Dream Clouds is an album of piano solos composed and performed by Ken Fritz. Fritz was born and raised in Fresno, California. After residing in the San Francisco Bay Area for 15 years, he returned to his Fresno roots in 2001. Fritz started his piano journey at age 15, which began with traditional piano lessons, and several years later included more music theory and jazz improvisation. Fritz is open to exploring all musical possibilities including classical, progressive rock, pop, jazz, fusion, funk, latin... Music for Fritz is a way of self-expression that goes far beyond words can begin to describe. Influences include nature, spirituality, family, and friends with both traditional and eclectic forms of music. His approach to music composition is to explore, consider and use a variety of musical ideas to describe memorable personal experiences. An example would be visiting majestic places in the mountains, coast, and desert and experiencing both subtle and sometimes-dramatic changes with temperature, winds, cloud movements, sunlight, shadows, colors etc. Observations coincide with thoughts, feelings, and emotions. At the piano Fritz will mentally visualize the changing scenery while remembering those thoughts and feelings. Fritz uses the piano as his sound canvas to paint musical expressions to embrace those experiences. An important aspect of his music compositions is to have an open framework for flexibility and improvisation so the music will live and evolve. Each time Fritz performs, his music will vary depending on feelings or emotions.
