King Over All
Music has always held a special place in Ken's life. His first instrument was a pair of bongos that he played until his parents bought him a set of drums. He actually did his first drum solo in his church at the age of five! While the drums were fun to play, he discovered that playing the piano was much more rewarding. He started composing songs on the piano during his early teens and he hasn't stopped since. Through the years, Ken has written music in many different styles and for various instrumentations. However, he most enjoys writing music for worship. Many of Ken's songs were written as personal expressions of worship to God and soon became songs of worship for the churches where he has served. Ken's debut CD, King Over All, features 10 unique songs, many of which were written during difficult times in his life. "Hard times seem to squeeze the songs right out of me. While no one likes to face difficulty in their life, I can truly say that the songs that have come as a result of my troubles have brought strength to my life and the lives of others." King Over All consists of an array of styles. It's musical influences include classical, jazz, pop, rock, and folk. Some of the songs are simple prayers to God, while others are celebrations of the life we've been given. "There's something in this CD for everyone. I have seen it's songs transcend race, culture, gender, and age in the short time that the album has been released." Without question, King Over All is a must-have CD. Ken currently resides in the Charlotte, NC, area with his wife, Cheryl, and his three kids, Zachary, Trevor, and Kyrsten.
