My Love Is Yours
St. Louis percussionist Kevin Bowers' exploration of rhythm and music began in early childhood in St. Louis, Missouri. His interests and efforts landed him at the Musicians Institute, a highly-regarded music program in Hollywood, California. Following graduation, Bowers' various stints with groups and studio projects eventually resulted in forming the band THOS. From 2001 to 2005, THOS established itself as a high-energy trio, always unpredictable, and a great live band while headlining premier venues throughout the midwest. After earning a reputation as one of the greatest live bands in the midwest and releasing two records, THOS called it quits in November 2005. Bowers quickly gathered moog player Tim Convy and guitarist Tim Ferrell (LUDO); keyboardist Dave Grelle (THE FEED); and Patrick Vogelaar (THOS) to record an album in January 2006 at Semaphore Studios in Chicago, Illinois. Kevin Bowers & the Reels hooked up with engineer/producer Jeremy Lemos who is well-known for his work with WILCO, JIM O' ROURKE, and LOOSE FUR to name a few. The relationship between Kevin Bowers & the Reels and Lemos really clicked. Having recorded almost the entire album live onto tape and mixing it in six days (6 twelve hour sessions), the debut album 'My Love Is Yours' came out sounding 'honest and very energetic...you get a feeling that Bowers cares a lot about these songs and that makes this album a worthwhile listen' says INDIE WORKSHOP MAGAZINE. 'My Love Is Yours' will be released Tuesday, July 18. This breakthrough allbum will be available for purchase on-line at cdbaby.com, and in stores at Vintage Vinyl, Borders, & Slackers. STAY TUNED!
