More Than What You See
Kevin's music is a result of a combination of influences ranging from heavy (Dream Theater, Queensrÿche, Rush), to alternative (REM, Our Lady Peace, Toad the Wet Sprocket), to progressive (Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Marillion), and even classical. Kevin combines these influeces to create a sound of his own. The lyrics are thoughtful, the melodies are well-written and beautiful, and the hooks are catchy. Kevin Conaway was born on January 3rd, 1982. He currently lives in Eastlake, OH, just east of Cleveland. Kevin began playing music at a young age. By age fifteen, he found himself in his first band. In 1998, Kevin co-founded the rock band Highball, which he fronted for seven years before it broke up in 2005. Now on his own, Kevin plays solo acoustic shows and is continually writing music. Kevin spent late 2005/early 2006 recording his first solo album, More Than What You See. The album combines acoustic material with full-band rock epics, with all instruments played by Conaway. Kevin graduated from the University of Akron with a BA in music. Kevin has also been a judge for the Cleveland High School Rock-Off since 2004. He is a contributing writer for DomainCleveland.com and has contributed music to the upcoming independent film The Frankenstein Effect.
