The Kevin Lucas Orchestra is a cutting edge group that pushes the envelope of modern music with classical, rock, jass, and world beat influences with the help of Kevin Lucas' five-octave marimba. Most of their music is original and the instrumentation includes marimba, electric violin, drums, percussion, guitar with vocals, saxophone and flute, and bass. The Carbondaley Dispatch of Southern Illinois said "The Kevin Lucas Orchestra is worthy of Carnegie Hall". The Saint Louis Post Dispatch described Kevin Lucas as "Beethoven with an attitude". The Kevin Lucas Orchestra has opened for Victor Wooten and Christopher Cross. They perform concerts all over the Midwest in college theaters, nightclubs, coffee houses, and auditoriums.
