Kevin Porter brings a fresh, unique style to the world of contemporary gospel music with anointed lyrics that include a beautiful array of melodious harmonies. "My Destiny" is a ministry of music that has taken a lifetime of dedication and preparation. Kevin was four when he began taking guitar lessons. After several lessons, the music instructor told his mother that at some point there would be some evidence of Kevin's musical talent, but at that time, she was just wasting her money. So the lessons were discontinued but the desire to worship never stopped. When Kevin's family moved to Chicago, he developed his relationship with God and became a member of a self-contained gospel group, The Anointed Ones. As a member of this group, Kevin's God given gift for music began to evolve. For several years, The Anointed Ones traveled around the city of Chicago performing at numerous church functions and charity events. They also performed at the Chicago Gospel Fest. In 1996, The Anointed Ones released an independent Christmas project entitled 'Let Us Magnify His Time'. Kevin has used this experience to propel his solo career. He has had the honor to share the same stage as Gospel Icon Vickie Winans as well as the great privilege to work with Melvin Williams of the Williams Brothers. Kevin has also co-written and co-produced with Ron Walters, Jr. on the title song "Don't Let Heaven Pass You By" for Serenity Entertainment Artist Tracy Worth. In addition to his other accomplishments, Kevin has shared his singing talent on projects with gospel jazz artist Felton Offard Jr., famed producer Bobby Wooten and gospel jazz saxophonist, Dr. Ozzie Smith. Kevin is an amazingly gifted vocalist, songwriter and producer. This project is truly a refreshing, new installment to Contemporary Gospel Music that will inspire your heart to worship in God's presence.
