Sharon is the youngest of 5 children. Sharon graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1982. Graduated from Beauty School of Expertise in 1983, and married Terry Brooks in 1983. Sharon is an artist of many faces, and poses many talents. From a very early age Sharon's love of music, and her natural and unique talent and ability for delivering a song was very obvious to friends & family members. While growing up Sharon enjoyed the freedom of every opportunity she had to express herself through her music . Her involvement in Glee Club, School plays, Talent Nights, Drama Club, and private voice lessons helped pacify the urge to sing and perform. Sharon recants on some of her fondest memories while growing up that involved summer visits to Oklahoma where she and her family would visit Uncles and Aunts & their families, and sing along with all of them who loved to play piano, guitar, and banjo. 'I enjoyed this so much, and I don't think the adults all realized just how much I did enjoy it, or what kind of impression they really made on me.' Even after she grew to be an adult, Sharon never lost sight of her goals to someday follow this love she had for the music profession.... and she bit on every opportunity she could to sing & perform. Geographically it was tough on Sharon cause she lived in Nebraska. She'd sing in every karaoke contest that would promise to put her in touch with a career in Country music. Many dead end leads after another....she joined the local CMA in Nebraska and showcased hoping someone.... anyone...would see, hear, or help put her in touch with a record label, and invariably record her and give her the chance she had only dreamed of since she were a very small child. Her chance finally came when a talent scout visiting the Nebraska CMA put her in direct touch in 1999 with Keith Bradford, President and Owner of KMA Records. In 2000 Sharon released her 10 song debut album titled 'KMA Presents Sharon Brooks. This debut album did quite well on the charts and is still being played by many radio stations worldwide. Songs released like 'I Want To Be A Cowboy's Sweetheart', a Patsy Montana classic, gave Sharon the Nickname of 'Nebraska's Yodeling Sweetheart', a nickname she carries to this day. 'Blanket On The Ground' a Roger Bowling song recorded by Billy Jo Spears many years earlier were among the songs released that gained lots of popularity & airplay from DJ's who began to wonder who the heck Sharon Brooks was. Fans all over have also showed their acceptance to Sharon Brooks with her unique style of bringing the best out in a great country song, she made these songs brand new all over again. In May of 2001, Sharon and her husband Terry moved to Trenton Georgia, a small community not far from Chattanooga, Tennessee, just a nice drive from Nashville Tennessee, where she was recording... this way, she could get closer & maybe this would give her the added opportunity to better intensify and achieve success with her music career. She felt at the time that she needed to get closer to music city to really achieve success. In 2002, Sharon released a second album on KMA Records Titled, 'I've Been There Too'. This album is getting great airplay with various radio stations worldwide as well. On this album, Sharon decided to display a different side of herself to her listening audience. This time she recorded some of the songs she penned herself, 'Under The Silvery Moon' and 'The Fool'. To her delight they are being played on worldwide radio stations which makes her very very proud. On this album she brings to life a song titled 'Mommy's Girl', written by songwriter Jean Massengale, with her youngest daughter, Deanna Brooks, only 7 years old at the time. This was a very special experience for Sharon & Deanna, and they are delighted to see this song being played on radio stations around the world today. Sharon so loved the unique opportunity to share a piece of her love for music with her own daughter Deanna and thus this song remains very special in the hearts of them both. Today, Songs from Sharon's latest project 'A Rose Among The Weeds' is being released on WHP ...a mixture of great tributes and originals that are doing exceptionally well at this time. It doesn't seem to matter if they are original or covers, Sharon makes them uniquely her own.....and she continues to ride high on many worldwide charts. The title cut, 'A Rose Among The Weeds', is a very touching composition written by Patti St. Clair of Ringgold Ga. Sharon relates, 'This song touched me immediately'...'just the words literally put goosebumps down my arms & back.' 'This song tells a real story I can relate too, and not too many songs touch me with the amount of intensity this song does'. 'I just had to record this one!!!' Sharon states, 'Patti St Clair just has to be one of the best songwriters I have ever had the opportunity to work with....she writes deep, and stirs your emotions......'and recorded it she did...along with another song written by Patti St Clair called 'Her Memory Makes Three'. Both songs Sharon really demonstrates her ability to captivate her listening audience & puts her special touch to a great song. It hasn't stopped there though, she continues to do so with releases such as 'I'm Not Lisa', 'Once A Day', 'Gypsy Rose', and there are others yet to be released in 2005.
