Rise & Shine
Blinding sunshine. The chirping of birds. The smell of coffee or bacon. A baby crying. The touch of a significant other. And don't forget farts and bad breath. These are all usually signs of the morning, and can all be experienced in the wee hours of the day. For The Kneehighs, this time of day, and that pleasant early feeling, reflects where they are in their lives and musical careers. Bursting onto the scene, The Kneehighs have already opened for big name acts and garnered a die-hard following, but they still feel like they are just getting started. Their debut album, Global Warming, was met with critical acclaim and drew in a fan base of all ages, races, shapes and sizes. For their second record, they really set out to make a cohesive record, maintaining a theme of everyday life, lyrically and also in terms of production. The end result captures the vibe, feel and energy of their live show, as well as who they are as people. With their sophomore release, Rise And Shine, The Kneehighs have created a record both lyrically and sonically uplifting, with a dash of nostalgia and vintage feel-good San Diego vibes mixed in. As The Kneehighs continue to spread their music worldwide, they, and you, will have a good time in the process. So, don't try to go back to sleep. Forget about that great dream you were having. We all have plenty to look forward to.
