Lost in Love
In the tradition of artists like Richard Shindell, Dave Carter, and David Wilcox, Kurt Winikka writes and sings songs of insight into the best, the dark, and the quirky sides of human nature. His songs turn a gentle light on the forgotten fringes of society, as well as beautiful truths found in everyday life. Kurt has been plunking, strumming, and otherwise banging on the guitar ever since the 7th grade, when he was given a $25 Spanish guitar from Nogales, Mexico. That same year, in the mountains south of Williams, Arizona, his ears were opened to the sound of country folk music when he first heard Linda Ronstadt singing Long, Long Time on the radio. An appreciation for the simple elegance of voice and acoustic guitar was forever imprinted in his mind. That and the power of song to move people.
