Laketha Latoya Southern Recording Artist/Biography Laketha Latoya Southern, songstress, and recording artist was born on July 26, 1974. Laketha is from Rowland NC,She is the Daughter of Deacon Robert and Pastor Ella J. Baker,who have been very supportive of her in her recent endeavors. Laketha also is the mother of three wonderful children Amyra,Ashanti,and Syn'cere. Laketha is also the daughter of Robert Lee Odom of Rowland,nc Laketha began singing at an early age with a group called the "Gospel Angels" of Rowland,NC which was managed by Robbie Currie and Minnie L. Baker. Laketha loved to sing and continued singing in her high school choir at South Robeson High School as well as in church. Laketha also sang with a quartet group called Byron&Company in Christ. At this present time Laketha is on the Praise and Worship Team, The Adult Choir, and serves as the Adult choir Director for "Abundant Life Ministry" Rowland, North Carolina, where the pastor is Pastor Ella J. Baker (her mother). When Laketha began singing at "Abundant Life Ministry" on the Praise team, This is when she allowed god to reveal to her what her purpose was, and she began to walk into her gift. Around 1999 she was introduced to Mr. Tyrone Hallman (her Producer) by her brother Robert Baker Jr. Laketha and Tyrone begin singing in church services, and weddings together,As the two continued singing together around 2006 Mr. Hallman introduced Laketha to Kelvin Smith of Smith Brothers Records in Florence SC. This is when it all began. This Musical Project is the result of a long life dream of singing and writing music. This song "I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU" is a song from the heart, because Laketha knows from experience that without god she would not be here today. Laketha made her first apperance on WIPS,Lumberton NC Laketha's next prodject in currently underway,and will be released soon in 2007.
