Out of the Depths
Lara Goudie is an Australian singer/songwriter based in Sydney who writes Christian music which reflects on life, the Scriptures and the Lord God. She has led the worship of thousands of people at Christian conventions and rallies, and in 2008 led 10,000 people in worship of God in song at the Sydney Entertainment Centre where Mark Driscoll preached. In his CD review, Australian song-writer Rob Smith said Lara's debut CD is "a powerful testimony to her talent and, more importantly, the grace of Christ ... Each song is soaked in scriptural truth and the CD as a whole touches on a wide range of biblical and pastoral themes," adding that "Lara's dynamic and distinctive vocal style also gives a freshness and appeal to the recording." Andy Judd (Garage Hymnal) said that Lara's songs are "Deeply personal reflections on life and faith and are conveyed with honesty and subtlety. And the musicianship and production deliver Lara's thoughts to us beautifully. We always knew she was a great vocalist -- now we know she's a great songwriter too." Lara has received extensive training in piano and voice. Lara performs regularly at large Christian conventions, conferences and rallies, live gigs and corporate events. She has sung on various Christian CDs, and trains church musicians around Australia to use their gifts in service of God and the church.
