Late Great Barnabus Jones
Barnabus Jones was: Kevin Beale - drums Jeff Dowd - acoustic bass BJ Kocen - acoustic guitar, vocals Barnabus Jones 1890-1902 Regrettably, Barnabus Jones was savagely eaten by a carnival lion moments after this cover photo was taken. The fearless twelve-year-old boy had travelled the world over with his father Bingsmenton Jones, whose notoriety as a famous wax trader goaded Barnabus's inclination towards danger. The first recorded near-death experience occurred when nine-month-old Barnabus attempted to crawl across a pit of burning coals. Many people assumed the young Barney was nothing but a lost soul with an appetite for self-destruction until many years after his death a discovery was made. Buried under molted snake skins and old bags of gun powder lay a tablet of poems that was passed down through Jones's descendants and ultimately became a small piece of celebrated literature. Here are those very poems set to music. We truly hope this collection will help people see that Barnabus Jones was not just a child consumed by a lion, but a child with the heart of a lion consumed by his passions.
