East of the Sun West of the Moon
Jazz Guitarist Laverne Christie has played in various formats from solo to combo to big band to accompanist throughout Minneapolis/St. Paul, the San Francisco Bay Area and Las Vegas, where she now resides. Christie's uncomplicated approach to jazz, her sense of swing, and appreciation for Brazilian music are evident in her arrangements. She pays respect to her jazz predecessors while appealing to new listeners through her interpretation of classic standards. Christie recently relocated to Las Vegas where she has become a valuable contributor to the revitalized Las Vegas jazz scene. The Laverne Christie Trio is a guitar/upright bass/drums ensemble that plays straight-ahead jazz.
