In the tradition of the classic album-producing bands of the twentieth century, Lavish Cat created music covering the range of human emotion and experience, without the agenda of defining or exemplifying a particular 'genre' or 'scene'. Their one CD, 'Your Dream' was spearheaded by duo Greg Dember (now leading CHIEFLY) and Linda Ceriello, but relies on a musically tight-knit group of friends and artistic co-spirits. The Disk is heavy on beautifully rendered, introspective ballads ('In Starlit Days', 'Everything', Believe Me', 'In My Screen') but perks up with the wah-pedal/piano rave-up 'Would You Rather Be The Sky' the neo-psychedelic folk romp 'Sunflower,' and the hyper-speed lounge 'All I Can Do'. Rounding out ten songs are the title song ('Your Dream'), which sounds like a television theme song for people who don't watch TV, the whimsical tribute 'Jonathan Richman' and the nostalgic 'Shall We Dance'. Linda Ceriello: vocals, flute, percussion Greg Dember: vocals, piano, guitar, bass Pat Reardon: bass Evan Kimble: vocals, guitar, saxophone Sasha Malinksy: drums Leon Dewan: guitar.
