Innovative style, the gwoka arouses curiosity and the interest of such as David Murray and Kenny Garrett. Young musician, Christian Laviso acquires a musical culture rocked by the traditional songs. Very quickly, it tests the need for adapting the gwoka to evolve/move artistically. His very particular style, develops in contact with famous Masters of Gwoka like Blachinot Kancel, Guy Conquet and by his collaborations with artists of jazz. From his very daring step, it is initially difficult for him to find his place on the musical scene in Guadeloup. With his talent, in particular to innovate, is able to integrate and identified in this musical family. From African origin, the 'Gwoka' is born from the big thirst for freedom of the slaves who exceed their sufferings at the rates/rhythms of the drums ka.
