Gérard Leclerc was born in San Francisco and studied with Bonnie Hampton, Margaret Rowell in San Francisco, in Geneva with Pierre Fournier and in London with Jacqueline du Pré. With pianist Muriel Slatkine he has been highly acclaimed throughout much of Europe and the United States. He has recorded many CDs, the most recent ones with works written for him by composer Alan Ridout recorded with the English Chamber Orchestra and the Sonates of Chopin and Strauss recorded with longtime partner Muriel Slatkine. Muriel Slatkine has earned the 'first prize' at the Conservatory of Music in Geneva in the class of Louis Hiltbrandt and has continued her formation with masters Alfred Cortot and Richard Huser at the Vienna Academy. Muriel Slatkine has been a regular partner with Gérard Leclerc since 1981 and in addition has given chamber music concerts in most European Countries.
