Perfect Melody is not the name of a band, and it is not meant to be a boastful musical description of this CD. 'Perfect Melody' is a song, and Perfect Melody is the name of this unique worship CD. Add a dot-com and it's also a website. But more accurately, Perfect Melody is Lee Steffen. Steffen is nearly a one-man machine, masterminding most of what makes up Perfect Melody. He wrote seven of the album's 12 tracks, co-wrote two others, and plays guitar and piano throughout. He also served as the art director and graphic designer for the project's excellent packaging, as well as designed the record's cut-above-the-rest site that offers free downloads of songsheets and overheads. With a little help from his friends, including indie favorite Matt Wertz, Matt Mangano (John Mayer) and producer Steve Wilson (The Juliana Theory, The Class of 98), Lee Steffen's 'Perfect Melody' is an indie record that doesn't sound like an indie record, nor does it sound like the run-of-the-mill worship CD. Rather, the project directs our attention to the Artist that made the artist. Freshly transplanted from Nashville, Tenn., Lee is now based in Seattle, Wash. Where he is continuing to create new inspiring music and is planning an epic trip around the globe. Learn more at travelingguys.com.
