Legends of Captain Pyrite
Captain Pyrite is the most infamous, violent, and charismatic buccaneer of the past, present, and future. The mythology surrounding his nefarious lives, deaths, and resurrections springs from the collaborating minds of many talented musicians, songwriters, and artists. Captain Pyrite was originally conceived by two brothers, C-HAWK and the Emperor John~Morgan, as a one-time performance. Since then, the Chicago-based band has picked up momentum, contributors, and blossomed into the current rock and roll art show that it has become. The brothers gathered a crew of musicians including singer/songwriter Jet-Boy and recorded their first self-produced album the Legends of Captain Pyrite. They embarked on a voyage of terror touring the United States from coast to coast. They made sure wherever they performed, people would remember the name Captain Pyrite! The band is a collection of diverse musicians and musical styles having unified to create a musical soundscape of rock. Everyone in the band writes and contributes; there are no free rides on Pyrite's ship. Captain Pyrite is a band that enjoys pushing the boundaries of hard rock, stretching from techno, to punk, to pop. The band's seafaring background serves as perfect inspiration for the common theme in the group's music. In fact, the nautical inspiration lead to the creation of a fictitious character named Captain Pyrite, who adds to the myth of the band while providing a vehicle to cross over into multi-media. There are plans for Captain Pyrite comics, books, games, and a movie. The goal of Captain Pyrite is to merge technology and the arts with music, as the universal glue to bind it all together. Not just a band, Captain Pyrite is a living, breathing, evolving merger of technology, art, sculpture, storytelling, and music.
