Leroy Hyter,a native Detroiter, began his career as a recording artist, songwriter and producer in 1978 when he joined the group Al Hudson and the Soul Partners. He toured extensively through Europe and the United States performing on the same stage with such artist as Marvin Gaye, Barry White, Heatwave, Kool & The Gang, and Chic. In 1980, Leroy left Al Hudson to record with the Dramatics, The Dells, RJ\'s Latest Arrival, The Floaters and Aretha Franklin. In 1988 he was selected as the pianist for the \'Cosby Show\' and in 1989 went on to become the Musical director for such artist as Freddie Jackson, and Melba Moore. He also performed with his dear friend, the late Phyllis Hyman and with saxophonist Kirk Whalum in Barbara Streisand\'s flim \'Prince of Tides.\' Leroy has co-authored many songs, including the following co-authored with Carvin Winans: \'When You Cry\', recorded by the Winans and \'Life Goes on\' recorded by Peabo Bryson. Hyter recently published \'First Impression\' an orignal piece recorded by violinist Regina Carter. Today Leroy is Minister Of Music at Faith Christian Center Church of Orlando, FL. and is committed to sharing God\'s Music to help usher the Nations into the presence of God.
