Duto Mag Yesu
Lilian is a young woman who has a great love for music, particularly praise and worship. She came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as a teenager and says this decision has changed her life and given meaning to life. Shortly after committing her life to Christ she became involved in music and young adults' ministry mainly in high school and in her home church, and soon realized that God was calling her to minister as a worshipper. Having grown up under Maturity Ministries and Faith Evangelistic Ministries, Lilian has had great experiences in music ministry. As she has continued to grow up in her faith and ministry she has been nurtured by Evangelist and prophetess Teresia Wairimu. She accredits her integrity and boldness in ministry to the mentorship in these ministries. Lilian has continued to serve with TWEM, the US sister ministry to FEM and is annually involved in revival and prophetic meetings. During her time in ministry in Kenya she was also a worship minister with the Nakuru Praise Team. Lilian is also involved with Word of Truth Ministries - directed by Minister Reuben Kigame. Additionally, Lilian is affiliated with the US based Christian ministry - Kenya Christian Fellowship in America (KCFA), where she serves as Music Coordinator and is involved in annual conferences and retreats across the US. Lilian is also the current president of SIFA, a music ministry that is an amalgamation of worship ministers across the USA. Lilian holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland. She also holds a Masters of Science degree in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, both from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. She currently resides in Miami, Florida, where she works as a psychologist at Florida International University. About the music...... Having been a worship minister for a while Lilian says that this project has been a long time coming. She says her desire is to continually bring the people of God to a place of celebration and worship. Lilian says that worship is a lifestyle rather than a Sunday morning experience and the music is just a spillover of her experiences with God. She combines contemporary and African traditional music in her style of worship which ushers people of various backgrounds into God's presence. She believes that an attitude of worship is the essence of the life of a believer that is key in intimate communion with God and spiritual growth. Lilian describes 'Duto Mag Yesu' as a project that was birthed through various experiences that drew her closer to a God through worship. The album, whose title is in her native tongue Dholuo is translated as 'All to Jesus'. This album is intended to bring people of all walks of life to a place of worship and celebration in God's presence. The album has a distinct East African flavor with a unique contemporary twist and features songs in Dholuo, Swahili and Luganda. May you be drawn to God and be blessed as you listen to this music!
