Lady of the Reach
Come here...Far from the fields we know... pause a moment as Lily's haunting lyric voice weaves a romantic dream from songs of what was, what might be and what may never be..you will feel better . This is an album of songs and a singer- Lily. Her voice is like some restless sky hunter soaring for those who have a need for meadows, woodland dells, still ponds and high rocky crags that fall into skies that are blue as far as you can see... We make no apologies -we are presenting modern art songs whose goal is to make you and us feel better. The title song is a unique dragon story featuring the legendary musician Luke Faust. Those of you who like Vashti Bunyan, Lorrena McKinnett, Judy Collins or the Tides of Night may find, indeed, Lady of the Reach is a gem to charm this muddy world . REVIEW FROM LUNA KAFE-ANNA MARIA STJARNELL: Lily is a sweet voiced young lady with the last name Parrott. John Parrot has written most of the songs and plays guitar and harmonica. The resulting album is dominated by Lily's wonderful singing and a calm mood ensues. 'Love is' is a hushed song that brings a lazy Sunday feeling. Lily sings beautifully as the melody unfolds. Carlos Jobim's 'Triste' gets a lovely, sad reading. 'Echos' is another great little song. Lily sounds as angelis as Heather Nova can. The title song is stunningly evocative, an epic that features the sound of water being used alongside John Parrott's guitar. Lady of the Reach is a stunning album.
