3 & Some Other Catchy Little Numbers
This CD is meant for very young children; toddlers and pre-schoolers. Grownups will enjoy the concepts and the music, too. It is a good CD for rides in the car. I have been a music teacher for many years. I go to four day care centers a week and do circle time music classes for the children there. I write a lot of songs for the classes and some of the songs on this CD are a result of teaching. I also specialize in private music lessons and classes for people who have non-typical learning styles. I've worked with gifted children, as well as those with profound disabilities. I have always enjoyed being with students who have challenges. I prefer a non-traditional teaching method that allows me to create adaptations to meet my student's needs. I travel to the thirteen pre-schools in the West Contra Costa Early Intervention Program. The students in this program have developmental disabilities. In all of my classes, special day or daycare, I do a circle time with my keyboard and a bag of toys and puppets. We sing children's songs and I use the toys and puppets as focal points. I often bring in instruments for the children to try. My collections include drums, flutes, kalimbas, boomwhackers, marimbas, bells and ukeleles. I come from a family of performing musicians. I studied music education at the University of Illinois, and arranging and composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston. I am a performing songwriter and live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
