Music occupies time--you listen to a song and watch the CD timer mark seconds. Sometimes it can give you a sense of space too. Liz's voice evokes a space. Her music's simplicity leaves room for you to breathe in the emotional space where she drops her guard. The emotions invite the listener, partly because of their sweetness; after all, bittersweet is sweet nonetheless. She might remind you a little of the Joni Mitchell you hear in 'Blue.' Her singing, both simple and rich, floats from the lips of a thoughtful writer and a true craftswoman.
