Formed in the winter of 2003, Local Traffic has played for every age group and every possible venue. From entertaining large groups at Crissy Field in San Francisco, and Ackerman Student Union at UCLA, community fairs in Los Gatos and Cupertino, to the numerous intimate coffee shops and bars in the South Bay area. Local Traffic has also won "battle of the bands" contests at both Santa Clara University, and the University of the Pacific, both contests being decided by audience vote. This support has gained Local Traffic local recognition in becoming one of the top acts in the area. The members of Local Traffic consist of 4 aspiring musicians, Darrin Shimizu, Juan Isaza, Tim Duffy, and Ian Moore. Shimizu, Isaza, and Moore all met while students at San Jose State University. Darrin is graduated and splits time with the band as a disc jockey for Mix 106.5, KEZR in San Jose. Juan is an aviation major, and Ian is finishing up his degree in mechanical engineering. Tim Duffy, has been working hard as a drum instructor, and is taking his own drumming abilities to new levels. The collaboration of the 4 have created a sound that can show the influences of four different musicians, but at the same time come together to create a new unique sound.
