Left in the Sun
(Loop), a quartet from Asheville, has been developing it's unique voice of soul-rock with over 150 shows during the course of two years up and down the east coast. Now, this diverse and energetic band embraces meaningful improvisation, compelling live shows and solid song writing as part of their current design. While many musicians focus on one instrument, half of this group's members are multi-instrumentalists. Chrissie plunges into the dual roles of drummer and lead singer with a vocal styling reminiscent of Etta James. While playing guitar on one track, Will then takes a seat behind the keyboards mixing vintage tones with the ethereal and ambient flavor of modern synthesizers. Balancing out the quartet is a solid foundation of guitar and bass. Jake drives the groove with powerful bass lines and a strong melodic sense while Keith adds textures and styles, ranging from quintessential soul rhythms to boldly inspired lead guitar. The eclectic sound of (Loop) is the product of many different styles woven together to create an uncommon sonic tapestry. Heavily steeped in the tradition of R&B, funk, soul, and rock, with the forward momentum provided through improvisation and exploration, (Loop)'s musical voyage always leads to surprising new territory and a sense of discovery.
