An emerging artist with a sound that is remarkably fresh and innovative, Loretta Muse shares with us her astonishing range, beautifully rich music and poignant poetry. Her musical skill and sophistication reaches us subtly while carrying us away with her wonderful songs. Her unique sound is colored partly by her classical and operatic training as well as her eclectic study of Indonesian gamelan and Indian classical voice. All of which are delicately woven into her music. She has sung on CD's such as Clara Luc Ponty's 'The Embrace' (Phillips Classics), Brian Ales' 'November' (Intuition) and projects for pianist Lyle Mays (the Pat Methany Group) and Greg Hawkes (The Cars). She's also sung on the Don Sardino film 'Advice from a Caterpillar' with Cynthia Nixon (Sex in the City) and Andy Dick (MTV) as well as the recent Ted Turner documentary series 'Avoiding Armageddon' on PBS. Her new release 'Raingarden' features jazz pianist, Misha Piatigorsky, winner of the Thelonius Monk International Jazz Competition. As a live performer appearing worldwide, she is known for her warm stage presence and an intimacy with her audience. Loretta's elegant musicianship and exploring lyrics convey a philosophy of balance and emotional honesty through a lovely tapestry of vocal texture.
