Lynx Quicksilver was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and spent her first 13 years traveling with her father, Maurice Sheffield, and his swing big band throughout Europe. She has been singing as far back as she can remember. Her father taught her to read music and to play the saxophone, which she has played professionaly all her life. During the 60's she taught herself to play the guitar and learned and performed hundreds of folk songs. Soon thereafter, she started writing her own songs and performed in coffee houses and clubs throughout the East coast. Over time, Lynx has evolved into a mature, and highly evolved guitarist/singer/songwriter. Her songs are very diverse, (she is a Gemini, born June 8) varying from amusing to extremely profound. Lynx now lives in the liberal and beautiful town of Huntsville, Alabama, which is in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains of Northern Alabama near the Tennesee border. She continues to write songs and to perform and plans to release a second CD within a year.
