For Your Glory
George and Robbie Hill, Owners of Nae~ Nae=s~ Music and Resource Center, founded the MADA Boys Choir in March 1997. The Hill=s had a strong desire to do something positive for the young men of the Southeastern San Diego area and as a result, the MADA Youth and children music training center was formed. Each participant is required to train in the area of music. The MADA Boys Choir has performed at various churches and community events throughout the San Diego area, such as the Encanto Street Fair, the Martin Luther King Day Parade, the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for The Cultural Art Center, also the Balboa Park Gospelfest, To name a few. In September 1998, The MADA Girls Choir was formed (EVE). Many of you are wondering what does MADA mean. MADA is Adam spelled backwards. This unique name was given to the choir by Dr. Timothy Winters, Pastor of Bayview Baptist Church. Adam which we all know was the beginning of mankind, and MADA is the beginning of change for the young men and girls of Southeast San Diego. In March 1998, the Choir was Incorporated as a Non-Profit Public benefit Corporation under the name of SE/SD MADA Children/Youth Community Choir, Inc.(SE/SD=Southeastern/ San Diego). An acronym for the word MADA, was developed by the President of the Board of Directors of the MADA Community Choir, Mr Lynwood Taylor. M =MUSIC A= ART D= DEVELOPMENT A= ACHIEVEMENT In January, 2002, The organization name was changed to: San Diego Young Artists Music Academy, Inc. With continued faith and prayers, the MADA Boys and Girls Choir intends to recruit more young men and women from the Southeast San Diego area and provide spiritual support in a positive environment. MADA Mission MADA enhances the lives of the children and youth of Southeastern San Diego Through music and technology education as a deterrent to the violence prevalent in our community. The Hill's, Smith's, Foster, Flenoid and Allen Family would like to thank God and give him all the Glory and Praise for keeping my father healthy and wet! Through this project ''For Your Glory'.
