Hailing from scattered points throughout the Pacific Northwest, the eclectic Seattle-based quintet MADISON has been together for twelve years. Composed of two brothers, two South Puget-Sounders and one gifted 'man-child' known as "Larry," these five friends musically explore the grip of the past and the bonds of regret on their second full length album 'Persistus.' A seamless blend of Modern Pop, Americana and British Pop with an underlayer of lilting guitar, this collection takes some chances. Depth of texture lends an atmospheric beauty that captivates, while lending background to the strong storyline that the group puts forth. Madison, although acknowledging life's sadness in the tonality of their music, speaks strongly of persistence and of overcoming universal hardships. Songs like, "Persistus" and "A Thousand Ways," explore the vastness of life while leaving the listener with a feeling of optimism. "Can't Outlive the Sun" and "Long Time Coming" display the band's pop roots while hinting towards a deeper sense of soulfulness. Throughout the album, the band showcases versatility while maintaining adherence to a quality of songwriting that doesn't come along often. Joshua Soltysik: Vocals Brian Jorgensen: Guitars Larry Norgaard: Piano/Guitar Jason Lowe: Bass Jason Thomas: Drums.
