A native of Huntington, WV, Marcie Bullock holds a Bachelor\'s degree in Music Education and has performed with various musicians throughout the Tri-State Areas of OH/WV/KY. During her time at Marshall University, she sang with the 12:00 O\'clock Jazz Ensemble for two years, which allowed her to perform in the community, around the state of WV. Performing with this group also allowed a spot in the Notre Dame Jazz Festival. Aside from this ensemble, she has had the pleasure of gracing stages in New Orleans, LA, Memphis, TN, and other venues in OH, KY, and MD. Marcie has been presented with various awards throughout the years. Aside from her collegiate recognition of her vocal ability and musicality, she was presented with three awards at the Notre Dame Jazz Festival for \'Outstanding Performer\' and \'Outstanding Vocalist\' in 2004. She also won two competitions in 2005 naming her one of the best female vocalists in the Tri-State. She currently is working on her original compositions as well as the standard crowd pleasing covers she frequently performs. \'Spent,\' consists of 9 original songs spanning the genres of soul/funk, rock \'n roll, jazz, and blues. Based on the stages of a relationship, it outlines the emotions/experiences that come along with the newness, the downfall, and the aftermath of falling in love. The mixture of genres of music appropriately fits the mood of each song. \'Who Knew\' and \'When I\'m With You\' carry the fun funky/upbeat soul sound to go along with the newness and happiness. The hard-rock driven melodies and lyrics of \'Maybe Just Crazy,\' \'Left Unsaid,\' and \'Damaged\' depict the hurt, the anger, and the frustration of the not knowing and the break-up itself. \'Can\'t Undo,\' \'Try,\' and \'Little Did You Know\' envelope the longing and the sadness from the loss and heartache. \'The Business\' is just a track thrown in as an overall expression of the artist\'s opinion on just what it says, the business. \'Spent\' is an album that everyone can relate to, because we all have had to face these emotions at some point in time, probably more than we wanted to. The album was recorded with the Steve Himes Connection of Charleston, WV, and members of Threefold Theory of Huntington, WV. It was produced and mastered by 101 Productions of Sissonville, WV. Upon the album\'s completion and hopeful success, Marcie will be relocating to Memphis, TN to pursue her music career. Marcie is always working on new material and might have an EP to follow \'Spent\' in the near future.
