Make Firm Our Steps
Mark McDowell is a father of four, grandfather of four, and married to the best person and partner he can imagine. He has played guitar since he was thirteen, sung since he was five, and has performed in bands, choirs, and has sung alone, along with his guitar. His music is targeted at people who could use spiritual encouragement and encompasses a wide range of styles - from simple folk, to pop, to Latin style jazz, and some funky music, too. He has released two CD's - his first, 'Make Firm Our Steps,' a collection of twenty-three songs, with one instrumental on Native American Courting Flute, has been appreciated by those who want to memorize inspirational quotations, or just need spiritual sustenance. His newly released CD, 'The Ancient Beauty,' is again twenty-three songs, promises to be inspirational and uplifting as well. The music also shows the impact of his study with David Blumberg, a well-known composer and arranger in California, in the Equal Interval system of music theory.
